Research and Data Management Coordinator

#MEET4IMPACT is seeking a Research and Data Management Coordinator. This person will lead the data and literature searches required to support projects to maximise societal impact in the tourism business events industry.

Tasks

Coordination and support for research

  • Provide methodological support for the conduct of the research projects;

  • Collaborate in discussions aimed at identifying research needs to transform them into methodologies and inform the design of research projects;

  • Work as part of a team and collaborate with other researchers;

  • Support the implementation of research projects according to the needs expressed by the research team

Data collection and analysis

  • Participate in the design of databases and data collection tools (mixed methods);

  • Collect various data from primary sources (interviews, surveys, etc.);

  • Translate (where appropriate) and transcribe interviews using software;

  • Analyse and interpret these data using qualitative analysis software;

  • Gathering documents from several sources and analysing these data from secondary sources to complement the primary data;

  • Conducting documentary research;

Generation of reports / communication of results

  • Produce tables and graphs of results;

  • Participate in the drafting of reports;

  • Create data visualisation documents;

  • Carry out any other related duties, as requested by the immediate supervisor.

Requirements

  • You can legally work in Canada;

  • You are bilingual (French/English) in both written and spoken form with strong communication skills in both languages;

  • You have a Master's degree in urban and tourism sciences, social sciences, management, marketing or sustainable development, or any other related field combined with relevant qualitative or quantitative research experience;

  • You have a good knowledge of qualitative data analysis software and qualitative (and quantitative) analysis methods;

  • You have experience in research projects with data collection from primary and secondary sources;

  • You have experience with web-based survey platform(s)

  • Excellent analytical, writing and summarising skills;

  • You are dynamic, have a critical mind and advanced analytical skills;

  • Knowledge of the tourism or events sector and of sustainable development or social responsibility is considered an asset.

Work Conditions​

  • Part-time position (15-20 hours/week, flexible)

  • Possibility of teleworking with occasional presence in our Montreal office

  • Offices located in the MTLAB at the UQAM Science Campus

  • Compensation based on education and years of relevant experience
