The Palais des congrès de Montréal is one of the largest convention and exhibition centers in the city of Montreal and one of the most renowned centers in North America. Located in the heart of the metropolis, the Palace offers privileged access to the historic and cultural districts of the city.
By updating their sustainable development strategy, the Palais positions itself as the convention centre of the future
The #MEET4IMPACT team was mandated to create a Sustainability Transition Plan for the year 2021-2022. As a corporation of the Government of Quebec, the Palais is required to anchor their sustainability initiatives not only in their own organisational priorities but also align them with the government priorities for the next 5 year.
To do so, the team interviewed the managers from the different departments of the Palais to understand their roadblocks, aligned with their strategic priorities and took stock of their existing sustainable development initiatives.
The team then distilled all this information into 4 sustainability priorities, 16 actions and 30+ indicators and targets to track and evaluate the progress towards the established objectives. This Sustainability Transition Plan will serve as the foundations for the upcoming 2022-2027 plan with which the Palais envisions becoming the most sustainable convention centre in the world.
