The Events Industry Council’s forthcoming study and global barometer will help document the evolution and economic value of the sector.

The Events Industry Council has announced plans for its 2026 Economic Significance Study of business events. The organisation also released the latest edition of its Global Business Events Barometer, which tracks changes in sector activity.

This work will provide organisations, destinations and decision-makers with updated data to understand the industry’s scale and support decision-making. Economic indicators remain essential for documenting spending, generated activity and the contribution of events to the global economy.

For MEET4IMPACT, the two approaches are complementary. Strong economic evidence establishes the significance of the sector; impact measurement then explains what events make possible for people, organisations and places.
