GDS-Forum and Impact Day 2026 bring sustainability and destination impact together
In Szczecin, GSTC, GDS-Movement, MEET4IMPACT and their partners connected sustainability standards, destination stewardship and positive impact creation.
The Global Sustainable Tourism Council participated in the 2026 GDS-Forum and Impact Day, held in Szczecin, Poland, from June 16 to 18. The event was organised by GDS-Movement with MEET4IMPACT, the City of Szczecin, the Szczecin Convention Bureau and Polish tourism organisations.
The gathering enabled destination leaders to explore sustainability, destination stewardship and event impact together. GSTC contributed the perspective of international standards, while Impact Day focused on turning ambition into action and observable change for communities.
For destinations, this convergence supports a coherent approach: use business events as levers for territorial transformation, engage local stakeholders from the design stage and follow outcomes beyond the event itself.
