“Social Impact in Destinations” webinar makes impact business as usual

GDS-Movement and MEET4IMPACT share practical strategies connecting event legacy, local collaboration and the measurement of change.
The Global Destination Sustainability Movement published the recording of “BUSINESS Events AS USUAL: Social Impact in Destinations,” a webinar produced in collaboration with MEET4IMPACT. The session begins with a simple premise: for leading destinations and convention bureaux, social impact is no longer an optional add-on.
The webinar explores how to define a desired legacy, engage local stakeholders and connect events with community priorities. It emphasizes beginning with intent and then translating that intention into activities, expected outcomes and useful indicators.
Practical strategies and examples show why collaboration matters. Associations, destinations, venues, community organizations, researchers and policymakers can all contribute to the chain of change when their roles are clarified from the design stage.
The recording is a practical learning resource that can be shared directly with teams and partners. It can open a conversation about integrating impact into event selection, planning, delivery and evaluation.
